With Father’s Day coming up quick, I know I’ve got BBQ on my mind! Lori was on Fox31 Denver showing everyone just how simple it is to make pulled pork sandwiches in the crock pot (complete with spices made here in Castle Rock!). Her recipe is incredibly simple and I’m dying to try it out!

Lori’s Pulled Pork Sandwiches

  • 4+ pounds Pork Shoulder Roast
  • Burnt Out BBQ Signature Rub (found in Farmgirl Foods!)
  • 2 Onions
  • 14 ounce can of Chicken Broth

Apply dry rub liberally to the pork shoulder. Apply rub several hours before cooking. Lori recommends overnight!

Add pork to crock pot. Pour the broth over the pork. Add onions to the crock pot, sprinkle around the meat. Place on low for 8-10 hours.

When the meat is finished remove from the crock pot, discard the liquid and shred the meat. Return to the crock pot on warm and mix with BBQ sauce of your choosing (we have some great choices in Farmgirl Foods!).

Assemble all of the fixings for a summer backyard picnic and celebrate Dad!
